Hi, I'm Aaquib.
AI & machine learning engineer · London, UK
I'm Mohammad Aaquib Jawed. I spent five years building production backends before specialising in machine learning, and I finished an MSc in Artificial Intelligence at the University of East London with a distinction. Most days I take models from research to reliable production services. FLIPD is the thing I build for fun.
Why a mirror game?
Try writing your name in a mirror. Your hand knows exactly how to draw, and your brain keeps sending it the wrong way. That small "wait, what?!" moment, and the even better moment when your hand finally gets it, is the whole game. FLIPD takes that feeling and turns it into bridges, glass, bubbles, blades and storms.
How it's made
- Real physics. Your line becomes a solid object, and Pip walks, rolls and falls on it (Matter.js physics, written in TypeScript with Phaser).
- Every level is tested. An automatic checker plays the known answer of all 120 levels and makes sure they win, and that wrong answers and empty attempts really fail.
- Original art and sound. Pip, the worlds and the music are all made from scratch. The music and sound effects are generated in code, not downloaded.
- Calm by design. Soft dusk colours, no flashing, a "Reduced effects" switch, and smooth 60 frames per second on phones.
What I care about
Honesty. FLIPD doesn't claim to raise your IQ. Ads only appear when you ask for one, there's no sign-up, and the privacy policy says exactly what the game collects, in plain words. Let's build something honest.
The road here
- Backend engineerFive years building production systems, at Edcast, PropertyPistol and Norstella.
- MSc in Artificial IntelligenceUniversity of East London, Distinction (93% average).
- AI / ML engineerLLM and agent systems, computer vision, production ML. I also teach the Machine Learning and Big Data labs at UEL.
- FLIPD2026. A calm, hard puzzle game for iPhone and Android.
